An Exhibition by Aubrey Ingmar Mason, Garry Noland, and Ann Weber

Uncommon Materials featured work by contemporary Los Angeles-based artists Aubrey Ingmar Mason, Garry Noland, and Ann Weber who transform unexpected materials to create unique mixed media works. The exhibit included Weber’s large biomorphic sculptures created from discarded cardboard, Noland’s assemblages of found and reclaimed materials, and Ingmar Mason’s use of $0.99 store napkins to mold large-scale wall sculptures reflective of feminist and political themes.
About the Artists
Aubrey Ingmar Manson
Aubrey Ingmar Manson was born in 1987 in Chicago, Illinois and completed her MFA in 2015 from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her BFA in Painting at Northern Illinois University in 2010. She is an active codirector of the artist-run project space Dalton Warehouse in Los Angeles and has exhibited in and around Los Angeles and Chicago.
Garry Noland
My studio practice is multi-disciplinary. The one constant is an openness to rough patches, glitches or mistakes. The presence of edges or boundaries between mistakes establishes immediate contextual and formal relationships. Those abutments mime our interaction with art and with each other.
Ann Weber
Ann Weber was born in Jackson, Michigan in 1950. She received her BA in Art History from Purdue University and an MFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts. Weber lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
