Javier C. Sugiyama is a painter and digital artist, born in Peru who lives and works in Whittier, CA. He works with both the traditional media of pencil, ink, oil paint on canvas, and digital media like Clip Studio Paint. Sugiyama’s work is influenced by Japanese anime and video games, and narrates stories about the human condition, relationships, trial and error.
His work has been exhibited at La Habra High School. He is an orange belt in Tae Kwon Do and studied art at Cerritos College. Sugiyama will receive a B.A. in Studio Art from California State University Dominguez Hills.
