Cynthia Flores is an emerging Chicana artist from Norwalk, California working with metaphysical ideologies in painting, drawing, tattoos and sculpture. Her work is about death, reincarnation, and moral entities, connecting spirituality with concepts of the multi-dimensional universe. Flores’ recent work proposes multiple timelines of moral or immoral decisions in everyday life. She challenges the illusion of choice through the operation of chess, a 1,400+ year old board game that is estimated to have about 5,949 moves/ possible decisions. Her artworks are interpretations of what may come after death.
Flores completed her apprenticeship at Black Umbrella Tattoo in 2017, and has since been a practicing professional tattoo artist. Flores is the founder of Psyche Vision Studio and Gallery in Orange, CA. She has exhibited work at The Stay Gallery (2018), Black Umbrella Gallery (2019), and The Navel (2019). Her tattoo work was featured at the Golden State Tattoo Convention (2020) and in Ton Magazine (2020). Flores will have received a B.A. in Art from California State University Dominguez Hills in 2023.
