Matthew Longino is an LA based digital artist with a primary focus in illustration on digital and traditional platforms. His work dabbles mostly in that of the fantasy and sci-fi genres with the intent to work in the field of illustration for the entertainment industry, namely videogames and other multimedia projects. His work is the product of worldbuilding, and aesthetics influenced by his research on the many histories and cultures from around the world to tell stories about war, oppression, and survival in his comics and concept artwork. In much of his work, he uses non- human creatures such as anthropomorphized animals and other creations to work with more visually interesting character design pieces, and heavy geographic/cultural research is done to create as consistent of histories as possible to fill the worlds he creates, drawing from as many parts of the world, from different points in time as possible to draw out something unique for others to immerse their time in viewing. His current focus is on concept pieces for Aetas Valon, a medieval fantasy project from the minds of Matthew and his partner in writing Sofian. Academically, he has obtained an Associates Degree in Art from Cerritos Community College.
