Faith Hills is a multidisciplinary artist from Northern Virginia living in Redondo Beach. Her ceramics, illustrations and sculptures are inspired by the natural, the fantastical, her life experiences and the things she spends time thinking and learning about. A large chunk of her work is devoted to depicting animals and environmental topics using natural materials like clay and oxide. She loves to leave evidence of her hands in her work, and she embraces any imperfections that make the forms that much more organic. She likes to make work that is functional and accessible in the hope that some of the thoughts and intentions she works into her pieces can be spread to others via their everyday functionality. She wants to use her own imagination and intention to encourage others to think curiously and creatively, and to be aware of their world, and enjoy the little, funky, beautiful things in life.
Faith earned an Associate of Arts degree in Studio Art from El Camino College in 2020, and completed two semesters in Loyola Marymount University’s ceramics extension program in 2019. She has shown in group exhibitions at both the El Camino Art Gallery and the Winston Hewitt and Office Hours galleries at Dominguez Hills. She helped to run the social media for the DH Ceramics Guild and DH Art Collective. She is a peer-juried member of the Torrance Craftsmen’s Guild, and she runs the social media for the Greater Los Angeles Pen and Ink Group (GLAMPIG). She is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer— she designs and sells original artwork at local fairs, national pen shows and in her Etsy store: Fish Conquers the World.
