CSUDH Innovation & Instruction Building Mural Wrap Project
Status: Submissions Closed
Summary
California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) seeks to digitally reproduce existing artwork(s) by an artist, or artists working as a collaborative team, throughout the interior of the new CSUDH Innovation and Instruction Building. The new complex was designed to feature large-scale murals in seven (7) locations using the digital mural wrap reproduction process. The university seeks to celebrate its core values of innovation, ideation, and creative work, with an eye towards the history and narratives in our local community through this public art project.
Artists must live in the greater Los Angeles region with a minimum of five (5) years professional exhibition experience. Submissions must be original works of the artist and in compliance with all existing copyright laws. The submission deadline is Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
One (1) proposal will be selected for the project and the artist/artist team will be compensated $15,000.
Artists should only submit existing artwork, and/or documentation of previous public art projects that reflect their ongoing art practice. Do not submit proposals for new work specific only to this project. The Selection Committee will weigh significantly the connection between your submission and your ongoing contemporary practice.
Artists may fabricate their artwork any way that is relevant to their practice, as long as it is made accessible to be digitally reproduced for display.
Please see “Specifications” below for full details.
