Jessica Cooke is a painter, feminist, and emerging artist from Los Angeles. Her oil paintings address personal, social, and cultural struggles, and the inequality of women. Cooke paints women from communities across the globe urging the viewer to take on a consciousness that is outside of self, and to develop an emotional connection and awareness of what women are subjected to.
Cooke has worked as a teaching artist organizing painting workshops for her local community. She collaborated with the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk to create art for the 2020 Presidential Primary Election and will be featured in the July issue of TRAPXART Magazine. Cooke will receive a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art at California State University Dominguez Hills.
