Ana Hernandez-Davalos was born in Zacatecas, Mexico in 2000. She is an emerging ceramic artist that incorporates the places that shaped her childhood, and the places that her family grew up in as main elements in her works. There is a lot of nostalgia and reminiscence about the past, as well as the feeling of being homesick due to the harsh experiences of moving countries and having to adapt to a new environment. She works primarily with stoneware and the works are sculptural. Her goal is to create scenes and spaces that represent her family heritage and explore the history and evolution of Mexican landscapes. During her time as a student she led the Ceramics Guild and participated in the PRAXIS Program as a teaching artist assistant.
