Steven Mota is a painter who was born, raised, and currently lives in Compton, CA. Working as a day laborer, he experienced hard labor with immigrant construction workers in Downtown Los Angeles. Steven’s acrylic and oil paintings focus on street vendors and essential workers and the daily beauty and struggles of living in Compton.
Mota has exhibited his work at El Camino College Art Gallery (2018), and Compton College Art Gallery (2017). He will receive a B.A. in Studio Art from California State University Dominguez Hills (2021).
