Ivana Torres is a Latinx artist whose work is about nature and the horror of the human mind. She uses ink, graphite, and watercolor pencil on paper to create monochromatic drawings that are sequences of spirituality and the effects of fear on the psyche. Torres confronts viewers with unsettling images of skulls, nature, death, and life. She draws with repetitive use of thin lines that build up over time to create a juxtaposition of disgust and wonder.
Torres has worked as a teaching artist assistant at PRAXIS City ArtS Parks working with youth in South Los Angeles and will receive a B.A. in Studio Art in 2021 from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
